Michael Kieran Harvey is one of Australia’s most celebrated pianists. He has performed and recorded around the world, as a solosit and with many of the world’s great orchestras and conductors. As a champion of new Australian works, among his many awards are the Australian Government’s Centenary Medal for services to Australian music (2002) and the APRA Award for Distinguished Services to Australian Music (2009).
Michael has put his bank on notice. He writes, passionately:
With the cancer of FRACKING threatening to visit Tassie (WTF?), and consequently girding my ancient loins to march yet again in protest as we did against Gunns, I am fully supportive of your ventures to resist the suicidal grabbing of fossil fuels by these dinosaur industries. As with Gunns, we can defeat these thugs, and those who fund their vandalism. We are ready for battle.
